If you play D2, you compare yourself to the prick who just killed you, and if he repeatedly kills you (as long as he is not cheating), guess what.Archaic Era The central factions of this era consist of: You cannot compare D2 to some other game. I have lost count of the times someone has totally smoked me in Crucible, and while I am sure I ended just as pissed off as anyone who suffered a similar fate, I fully realise there are others who are simply more adept, more skilled, more lucky or just plain BETTER THAN ME. Net performance can be a major factor, however in almost all circumstances, the fact that the person who killed you in PvP, probably has a keen understanding of RADER, knows his LOADOUT and the capabilities of his gear + is well versed in PvP mechanics and able to quickly aim/react, also KNOWS the map, and PREDICTS your probable moves/reactions. The fact is however, that the difference is performance between weapons or differences in armour are the least of all things in Destiny 2. I remember back when people were saying "Ace of Spades is OP" and moaning about all manner of other reasons why they simply could not win (and it was never their own fault or lack of skill). When I hear people moan about PvP in Destiny 2 I just smirk. I still think HC's are pretty great in PvP. I think the days of Luna dominating are over, because the nerfs it's received along with the range reduction is going to really hurt it when you can get something like Ace much more easily. Pulse's definitely feel more oppressive now if you're a handcannon user and you have to take more risks like flanking if you're dedicated to the weapon class. You definitely can't fight Pulses's at their effective range and need to get closer now. I've been using it and you probably need 1-2 more hits on average to kill with it, so it's not the end of the world. I believe Ace got hit pretty hard by this, but it's still a great gun.
HC's got a range damage fall-off nerf to help put pulse rifles in a better place, but that pretty much has zero effect on a gun like TLW that's really designed for just outside shotgun range dueling. I'm still enjoying Ace even with the nerf though.
